Vigilant Duo

Whatever is hiding behind the cement step does not have a chance! Boots and Rosebud are quite patient. I see determination in Boot’s eyes. What attracted me to this shot is the contrast of textures–soft cat fur, stiff whiskers, a cracked step, sprawling plants and algae. The cats exhibit stillness, yet there is a feeling that at any moment there will be pouncing action.

The soft subdued colors of the algae growth allows the vividness of the cats’ coloring to stand out.

Emerald Eyes

This pose of Grace is featured in my annual cat calendar for February 2018.

No Vacancy

Each year I create a cat photo calendar from my favorite annual shots of the cats at my home or at the farm. Here is from left to right, Rosebud, Angus, Boots and Tigger. As you can see, all love to be in this favorite bed at the same time–especially in January.

Prancer

Boots and I ventured out last December. He thought the icy walk was too cold!

Adopt Black Cats
By Linda A. Mohr

All black cats deserve
Endless favorable guardians

Hated, idolized, jinxed, killed
Loving, mysterious

Now overlooked pets
Query rescue shelters today

Unlucky
Vocalize worthiness

On one of my farm vacations, I watched Boots explore a hay field during mid morning. He was hunting for field mice, playing with the other kitties and poking around at the bottom of a hay bale. All of a sudden he leaped on top of it. I was fortunate to snap this action shot. I never knew what captured his attention. Later I created a haiku and discovered the joy of a photograph prompt.

Captivating Chauncey

A camera at the breakfast table got this morning Chauncey shot! Mirror images, glass, reflections, and water colors intrigue me.
