Yes, I would say Amber has trained you well! I certainly identify with the "cats are my children" concept! It is that way for me, too. Thanks for taking the time to comment.

I can't imagine pets being anything but members of the family. I don't have children, so my cats *are* my children. Everything in my house is all about Amber - which, I'm sure she'd agree, is how it's supposed to be. We celebrate her "birthday" (I'm not sure when that was so I've designated the day I brought her home as her birthday). I would never dare come home from a trip without bringing her back a present. If I know I'm not going to be home for several hours after her regular dinner time, I'll actually have my pet sitter come by to feed her.... Well, you get the idea of who's in charge here!

Our dog Maggie lives in the house and has his own pillow/bed and is definitely a member of the family. She even goes to work with my husband where she has her own chair(padded of course). She doesn't get people food except on holidays when she gets a bite of turkey. And yes, she gets Christmas presents and although she doesn't get an Easter basket she LOVES the egg hunt.

Hi Linda! Thank you so much for your support! I work for Iams.

Iams Home 4 the Holidays is our heart and soul! Yesterday, we announced adoption numbers for our first week. More details here: http://petcarebev.com/2009/10/08/iams-home-4-the-holidays-first-week-totals/.

Thanks again for mentioning Iams Home 4 the Holidays! I hope you will continue to help us help 1.5 million pets to find forever homes by January!

(PS--I think your blog is syndicated? I left the same comment on another site.)
