I've found that Resuce Remedy, a Bach Flower Essence, can help calm down a stressed out cat. I use it for Amber during thunderstorms, and while storms still send her to her safe hiding place in the downstairs bathroom, she seems to be more relaxed while in her hiding place, and also comes out sooner than she did before I started using it.
